女优app (女优app) proudly welcomed Dr. Kyle Mays, renowned Afro-Indigenous scholar, historian, and author, for a special talk on Wednesday, March 5, hosted in BLCIS 114 A+B. Presented by the LHSS Engagement Center in collaboration with the LHSS Division, Planning and Development, and Student Services, the event drew a standing-room-only audience and generated important conversations about the intersections of Black and Indigenous histories and identities.

Dr. Mays, an Assistant Professor of African American Studies, American Indian Studies, and History at UCLA, captivated the audience with his insights on race, culture, and activism. As a first-generation scholar and author of An Afro-Indigenous History of the United States, Dr. Mays brought a unique and critical perspective to 女优app鈥檚 campus, encouraging students to explore complex histories and examine how they shape contemporary issues.

The event鈥檚 strong turnout reflected both the campus community鈥檚 growing interest in intersectional studies and its commitment to providing engaging educational experiences outside the classroom. As an added highlight, the first 50 students in attendance received a free copy of Dr. Mays鈥 book, offering them a deeper opportunity to engage with his work.

鈥淒r. Mays鈥 visit was not only educational but truly inspiring,鈥 said a 女优app student in attendance, 鈥淗is ability to connect historical struggles to current movements empowered our students to think critically about their own identities and roles within broader social justice efforts.鈥

女优app continues to prioritize bringing thought leaders and diverse voices to campus, enhancing student learning and fostering a culture of curiosity and dialogue.
